Take II

A couple weeks ago, it was my intention to make a rice/lentil cabbage roll for a potluck I was going to. I did my best but, long story short, I failed at the task. (Long story not quiet as short: The smell of fried onions, the clanging of pots, the steaming of cabbage and the cursing of torn and unrollable cabbage leaves.)

But it’s a new day and it’s time to try again. I got a good night’s sleep and my ingredients are ready and waiting in the fridge. I’ve done my research (ohhhh, you trim down the spiney bits on the cabbage leaves, you don’t cut them out completely!) and I’ve learned a valuable lesson: When trying something new, don’t make it for a potluck.

And no offence but cook cabbage….blucky!! Give me raw cabbage anyday!

You know, Soph, you’re right. The cabbage rolls were fine, but so… cabbagey! Maybe I should focus my cabbage efforts on cole slaw.

    Asian Rice Noodle Wraps?

Yes!! I love those – especially with peanut sauce. They’re so summery. Mmmmmm.
